About Jenn
Care rooted in whole-person understanding.
I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Social Work background. My work is grounded in the belief that effective psychiatric care looks at more than symptoms alone.
I work collaboratively with patients to develop treatment plans that are individualized, carefully considered, and grounded in both psychiatric evidence and a fuller understanding of the person.
Background
Training and experience.
My professional background in social work continues to shape the way I practice today: listening closely, understanding context, and seeing each person as more than a diagnosis.
I completed both my Master of Science in Nursing and my Master of Social Work at Columbia University. My clinical experience spans outpatient and inpatient psychiatry, academic training environments, and psychiatric rehabilitation, as well as international clinical work in Jerusalem. I have also provided clinical education and training to Columbia University nursing students.
My training as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner allows me to provide evidence-informed psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
My Approach
Seeing the whole picture.
Psychiatric symptoms do not occur in isolation.
Alongside the symptoms that bring you to treatment, I consider your history, relationships, stressors, physical health, sleep, and the circumstances of your daily life.
This fuller understanding helps inform clinical decisions and allows treatment to be tailored to the person rather than simply to a diagnosis.
Collaboration
Working together on treatment decisions.
Treatment planning is collaborative. I bring psychiatric expertise, while you bring essential knowledge of your own experience, priorities, preferences, and what has or has not worked for you in the past.
Collaboration extends beyond our appointments. I often work closely with the other clinicians involved in a patient's care—therapists, primary care physicians, and other specialists—so that treatment is coordinated rather than fragmented.
The goal is a treatment plan that is clinically sound, understandable, and workable in your actual life.
